Mr. Macron, promoting a ban on SNS for children under the age of 15
On the 10th, French President Macron expressed his intention to promote European Union regulations prohibiting the use of social media for children under the age of 15 in response to the incident in which a school staff member was stabbed to death by a 14-year-old student in eastern France. He expressed the view that SNS is one of the causes of youth violence, and expressed the hope that EU regulations on restricting the use of SNS will have results within a few months.
In his post on X, he also pointed out that such regulations are supported by experts, urging, "Platforms have the means to verify age. They should use it."
When I saw this article, I was convinced to push for these regulations because SNS is very convenient but dangerous. Also, when I learned that such an incident had occurred, I decided to be careful about how to use SNS.

I have heard that similar regulations will be imposed in the U.S., but I think it is important to educate people in Japan about Internet literacy so that useful social networking services will not be restricted.
返信削除Social media is now indispensable. Because everyone uses it, good and bad things spread quickly. You have to always think about how much of an impact your posts will have.
返信削除SNS is very very useful but it is very scary. So it is improtant for us to how to use the SNS.
返信削除Although SNS is convenient, I felt that it was very difficult for such an incident to happen even if it was understood worldwide that it would have a negative impact.
